English version below - Hay un lugar que nos pertenece. Un corazón que nos reclama. Toda la vida podríamos pasar buscando y buscando... esta vida y otras tantas más por venir. Hasta que un día, en la velocidad de todo lo que nos rodea, decidimos detenernos, mirar alrededor y decidir ir por ese corazón, porque sabemos que el hogar está donde el corazón está. Es así. Aquí, en la China y en Europa.

Estadounidense ella y Suizo él. Y un lugar en común donde, aún sin conocerse, habían coincidido: Lanzarote, la pequeña isla volcánica del conjunto de 7 islas de Las Canarias. Y ambos, biólogos. Un seminario los llevó a conocerse en Estados Unidos y a darse cuenta de que los unía algo más que la pasión por los bichos y las plantas. Sarah tuvo que dejar a su familia súper unida para estar junto al hombre que había estado buscando toda su vida: hombre con una cultura totalmente diferente y que también había decidido años antes hacer un camino diferente al de su padre. Una "simple" decisión que, de no haber sido tomada, quizás hoy se estarían buscando. Nada pasa porque sí. Nada. Todo tiene una razón y está escrito ese camino en las estrellas... solo que muchas veces nuestros miedos nos vencen y decidimos no mirar hacia arriba y leer todo lo grandioso que los dioses nos tienen preparado.

Y es así que después de varios años de viajes, horas de aeropuerto, de reencuentros en miradas y abrazos decidieron dar el sí en el lugar que ambos habían pisado y que sería el cierre perfecto para que 14 nacionalidades acompañen a esta hermosa pareja. 

Una boda rodeada de sus familias y de los amigos que estuvieron para ser testigos de esta maravillosa unión. Emotiva hasta las lágrimas y divertida. Alegre, feliz, vibrante. Una Celebración, nunca mejor definida. Con rituales que incluyeron arena de diferentes países, bailes y danzas típicos de España, muchas risas y abrazos.

En este resumen van a ver algo del hermoso lugar que es Lanzarote, esta isla volcánica con paisajes que parecen de otro planeta, viñedos que se abren paso en un terreno que se resiste a la naturaleza, el bellísimo espacio elegido para la ceremonia y la fiesta que es Jameos del Agua, la hermosa cueva natural formada luego de la última erupción del volcán. También van a poder ver a la familia de esta pareja, sus amigos, los padres de ambos y a mí, siendo testigo ocular de todo esto para compartirlo con ustedes.

We belong somewhere. Our heart knows it. We spend our whole lives searching and looking for the one life we want. Until one day, amidst the hustle of our routines, we decide to stand still, look around and follow our heart because we know that home is where the heart is. That’s the way it is. Here, there and everywhere around the globe. 

This is a story of American-girl-meets-Swiss-boy. They had a place in common–without knowing it yet–that would soon bring them together: Lanzarote, the smallest of the 7 autonomous Canary Islands.

These two biologists met at a seminar in the United States where they realized they had more in common than just their passion for living organisms. Sarah had to leave her close, loving family to be with a man she had been looking for her whole life. This man came from a totally different cultural background and had also decided to leave his family to follow a new path a few years earlier.

If it wasn’t for their simple yet life-changing decision, they wouldn’t have crossed each other’s paths and would be still looking for each other. Things happen for a reason. Everything, really. There’s a raison d'être behind every single thing in life and it is written in the universe somewhere. We might not see it sometimes because our fears blindfold us, making it hard for us to appreciate the amazing things the gods prepare for us. 

After many years of traveling together, waiting long hours at different airports, and falling for each other with just one look, this couple decided to tie the knot in a place they’ve both been to before. A perfect place to witness their love.

Their friends and family were there to by-stand this wonderful union. Emotions, tears of happiness and a lot of fun made up their wedding. It was a happy, vibrant and joyful evening. A celebration in every sense of the word. It included guests from 14 different nationalities, traditional Spanish dances and a lot of hugs and kisses here and there. 

In this wedding recap you’ll get to discover what an amazing place Lanzarote is. This volcanic island features never-before-seen landscapes, vineyards where you can take nature in, the beautiful setting where the ceremony and party took place, and Jameos del Agua, a watering hole crafted out of part of the unique lava tube. You’ll also get to see the family of the newly-weds, their friends, and me, the eye behind the camera that witnessed this magic to then share it with you.
